Since the schools in my local town only just started their summer holiday, I am hoping that it’s not too late to post about my plans this summer. These are the things that I have been dying to do ever since, however, never had the time to do them as I was on a one year placement year that kind of took over my life by a huge amount. This is because I have never been the sort of person to do anything half-arsed. Now that I have all the time in the world, I have plans to get sh!t done! This article will be about the sort of sh!ts that need doing.
I have had my holiday and this consisted of some time off social media for a little reset and doing many fun activities that I don’t normally do. I will be posting a different blog post later on and a video for on my youtube channel about the time I had off.
Setting up Liana Mayendee blog (this blog)
Now that this one is done and out of the way, hence why you can read this blog post, there are still many more things that need doing this summer. This is one most important point for me as I have always found my personal blog to be the source of letting go of all the things on my mind. Pretty much where I document everything, ever. This is why this is on the top and it was the first thing that got done!
Start my new youtube channel
This has been my passion since the early days, it started some time after I started blogging at the age of 12 and it all stopped completely because my placement year began. Although my plan was to maintain it during my placement year, it was not possible due to health reasons and my working schedule. Now that it is over, let the passion mission begin!
Start my podcast, again
I started my first podcast during my placement year as that was when the idea came to my head. Still not giving up about the idea of working during my resting period and not having the time, I attempted to start something again. Again, it did not work out for me as I did not have the time to so now this is one of the few other things that are on my passion mission list. Hey, at least I tried and did not give up completely.
Start working on Blossom Empire
I came up with the idea of setting up my own business for the first two weeks of starting my placement year. It is called Blossom Empire. I came up with the idea because I notice that with any jobs that require creatives, often the creative individual will need to work for free first. Now, in the real world, don’t all of us have bills to pay, don’t all of us have needs in life, and don’t all of us have to pay for everything with every breathe we take? This has to change.
For those that are creative, I want you to know that what you have is unique, what you put out will not be the same to other creatives, you have something within you that someone out there will value. I want to set up a platform where I can help them start up their own service-based business. Screw the expectations of those who think you should have XX amount of years of experience before you deserve a paid job. You don’t need to have XX amount of years of experience to be good – some of us learn faster than others.
Long story short, I want to help other creatives blossom into something that they desire to be using their gifted talent/skill and make an income from it by starting their own service-based business. This will focus on how they can create content to help others that need their light to discover them.
Get into the routine of blogging a few times a week
I miss blogging so so so so much, literally. Now I want this to be hitting the ground again! I miss working with brands, I miss creating content. For me, creating content is like having good intentions to share what I feel will benefit others.
Apply for a part-time job whilst at university
At this point, I have enough savings to survive my final year at university however I have never been the person to ever not have a part-time job. I am going to get a job that will be in the industry that I want to be in and I have learned my lesson to not settle for anything less.
Revamp my CV for grad job applications
Well, last year went by really fast, soon it will be that time of the year that I will need to start applying for my grad job and shifting my path into the adulthood of being in a graduate job – working in the real world.

Read some books
I have a guilty pleasure of buying more books than I can read and I think my book collection now is pretty insane. I also have a kindle which has more books on. If you haven’t followed me on my Goodreads account then head over to follow me on Goodreads! I think I have enough books to last me for the whole year.
Work on personal development
As a person with mental health issues, I constantly have to watch out for myself and seek opportunities in the personal development area. This is something that I should really dedicate more time to.
If this is your first time to ever see my blog – welcome! This is probably the 4th time of rebranding, however, this is my safest move with everything that has been happening in my life.
What are your plans this summer? Let me know in the comment!
